Attendance Policy

Please remember that if your student misses class due to doctor appointments, you must turn a doctor's note in within 3 days after the appointment. If there is no doctor's note, the absence becomes unexcused. You can email the doctor note to andryk@mhusd.org or send it with your student to school.

YOU MAY ALSO EMAIL THE ATTENDANCE OFFICE AT MMATTENDANCE@MHUSD.ORG OR MMATENDENCIA@MHUSD.ORG TO NOTIFY THE SCHOOL OF YOUR CHILD'S ABSENCE. YOUR EMAIL SHOULD INCLUDE YOUR NAME, CHILD'S NAME, THE DATE FOR ABSENCE AND THE REASON. YOU MUST NOTIFY US EVERY DAY YOUR STUDENT IS ABSENT

If you are picking up your student early, you must notify the office before school. Students will be given a pass to wait in the front office for their parent/guardian to sign them out. We will not interrupt a classroom unless it's an emergency.

Students must check out through the Attendance Office when leaving campus. Failure to do so may lead to disciplinary action.

Students should not use their personal cell phones to call or text their parent/guardian to pick them up when sick without visiting the Health Office first.

CLASSROOM ATTENDANCE

If you believe your student was marked absent by mistake, please email the teacher directly. You can contact the Attendance Office to excuse an absence but attendance cannot be verified through the office after that class period has ended.
