Construction Team Completes Key Projects with Measure G Bond Funding

Morgan Hill Unified School District campuses welcomed students back this fall with a fresh look and important facility upgrades, many made possible through Measure G bond funding. These efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to providing safe, modern, and inspiring learning environments for every student.

Since its passage in 2012, Measure G has generated $198.25 million in bond funds, distributed through three series: $55 million in 2013 (Series A), $80 million in 2017 (Series B, with interest totaling $83.7 million), and $63.25 million in 2022 (Series C, with interest totaling $66.3 million). With this support from the community, the District has been able to invest in long-term campus improvements that directly benefit teaching and learning.

Over the summer, our facilities team focused on high-impact projects across multiple sites. Martin Murphy Middle School gained a refreshed administration space and a new coat of paint, while P.A. Walsh STEAM Academy also brightened its campus with updated paintwork. Britton Middle School advanced its modernization plan with a gymnasium renovation and the demolition of Building C. Safety was enhanced at Murphy with the installation of a new fire alarm system, and the Community Adult School received a new roof along with HVAC upgrades to improve comfort and energy efficiency. At Live Oak High School, the parking lot was resurfaced and restriped to improve traffic flow, and on a districtwide level, our technology infrastructure was strengthened through new server and backup systems in the data center.

These achievements are just the latest in a series of upgrades supported by Measure G, underscoring the value of the community’s investment in our schools. The dedication of our facilities staff, combined with the careful stewardship of bond funds, ensures that our campuses continue to evolve to meet the needs of today’s learners and tomorrow’s.

MHUSD extends heartfelt thanks to our community for making these improvements possible. Together, we are building a stronger future for students across the district.
