Building Connections, Empowering Families – Fall Update

As the new school year begins, the Family & Community Engagement (FACE) Department and the Morgan Hill Community Adult School are excited to share important updates and highlights. Together, we are building strong connections between schools, families, and the wider community!

Training Staff to Better Support Families
In August, over 50 district staff members—including our Community Liaisons—joined a special training focused on Welcoming Families and improving customer service. The session helped staff learn how to handle difficult situations with empathy and professionalism. Participants especially valued hands-on role-playing that allowed them to share real-life experiences and solutions.

Language Classes Are Back!
This September, we’ve relaunched free English as a Second Language (ESL) and Spanish as a Second Language classes to support communication and connection in our school community. These classes are open to all adult community members and are a great way to grow language skills and cultural understanding. Free childcare is available. Flyers available in English / Spanish.

Free & Low-Cost Dental Services for Families
Thanks to our partnership with Bay Area Community Health, Mobile Dental Services are offered at the FACE Center every 1st and 3rd Monday, from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. These services are designed to make essential oral healthcare more accessible for children and families. Fliers: English / Spanish.

Health & Wellness Support
The Navigator Program is available every Wednesday from 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM at the FACE Center. Families can access mental health services, referrals, and personalized support in a welcoming space. Fliers: English / Spanish.

Migrant Student Success: College Readiness in Action
This summer, 13 students from our Migrant Education Program attended a special college preparation experience at Fresno State University. High schoolers stayed on campus for two weeks, while middle schoolers joined for one week. Students attended real college classes and lived in dorms—giving them a valuable head start on their college journeys! We’re continuing to support these families through partnerships like Empowered Education, which provides guidance on college planning and applications.
