Mustangs Place in Cross Country Division Finals

The Martin Murphy cross country team had the most successful season in recent memory.  The school got 3rd place in the Division finals, with several of our divisions ranking in the top 3!  This is the largest team Mr Martinez, Coach Russ and Coach Li have ever seen in 8 years of coaching together.  We are so proud of all of the runners who fought the heat, the hills, and exhaustion to run their hearts out. Go Mustangs!

Here's a shoutout for our Registrar, Yessica Sanchez Salinas here at Martin Murphy Middle School. Yessica is the epitome of "team player." Assistant Principal Virginia Barerra says, "On top of her Registrar duties, Yessica is usually the first to jump in and help wherever needed. We have been without a health clerk for the first part of this year and Yessica made sure students were taken care of when they went to the health office. She will help supervise lunches when we are short-staffed. She is always smiling and willing to help. It is wonderful to have someone on campus who finds areas of need and fills them, no questions asked." Thank you, Yessica, for being an important part of the Murphy Team.

Let's hear it for Mrs. Yen Nguyen, Math Teacher at Martin Murphy Middle School! "Ms. Nguyen is an excellent teacher. She always engages her students with well-designed lessons. In most classes, she has students moving about the room and collaborating. Ms. Nguyen has a great rapport with her students; students often comment on how much they like her class. Ms. Nguyen is an important member of the Murphy staff. She is dependable, always willing to help, and mentors new teachers." --Principal Rick Ito

We are excited to announce that we adopted a new form of school-to-home communication at Morgan Hill Unified School District called ParentSquare which will launch September 20, 2021. This unified communications platform is designed to keep parents and guardians informed and encourage greater engagement and connection with Morgan Hill Unified School District. It provides a safe way for district administrators, school principals, teachers, staff, and parents to:
 

  • Send and receive school and class information

  • Share pictures and files

  • See calendar items

  • Sign up to volunteer

  • Schedule parent-teacher conferences

  • and much more . . . all in one centralized place!

All district and school, grade level and classroom information will now be sent to your computer or phone via email and/or text. For even more convenience, download the ParentSquare app (available for free for iOS and Android devices).
