Summer Message from Principal Del Bono

I'd like to introduce myself to the Martin Murphy students and families. My name is Jennifer Del Bono and I'm thrilled to serve as your new Principal. I look forward to meeting each member of the school as we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year. My goal is to establish and build a strong relationship with the Martin Murphy community to ensure that it continues to be a wonderful experience for students.

My belief is that every student deserves quality education. To achieve that I strive to provide an educational environment that I would want for my own child. This includes fostering positive learning environments that promote belonging and kindness. In this positive environment students are encouraged to be critical thinkers, collaborate, communicate effectively and be creative. I also strongly believe that students are the leaders of tomorrow and that we as adults are responsible for creating conditions for them to develop and demonstrate their leadership skills.

My experience includes working 23 years in education serving most recently as the Director of Safe and Healthy Schools at the Santa Clara County Office of Education. I've also served as a Principal, Special Education and Social Studies teacher, and new teacher mentor. My education includes a B.A. in Social Studies and an M.Ed in Urban High School Educational Leadership.

With great hope and optimism for our work together,

Jennifer Del Bono
